...To anyone who can knock me out Insomnia

Can't help but refer to Ren's (from Ren and Stimpy) plea for sleep relief, because I'm having trouble with my own right now.  And I'm not sure if it's the side-effects of the new drug treatment, the steroids, my PMS or a combination of all three, but I could really use some painkillers for some sleep aid.  However, I'm having trouble getting that refilled.  (Sure as hell not taking Ibuprofen if it's banned from me and other Crohn's disease patients.)

Might as well take some melatonin, even though that could backfire on me...

Any suggestions?  At what point should I see my doctor about this, because I'm not sure if this is a problem I need to see a specialist about...

Surprisingly, unisom is a drug even I as a preggo lady can take. I would always ask a doc, though. I'm in the military healthcare system, but I have a nurse triage line I can call at any time of night and ask questions. Haha.

I usually keep my room pretty cool, try not to drink too many liquids before bed, limit caffeine to when I first wake up before work. I also keep multiple thickness blankets around to adjust as I need throughout the night.

We also have blackout curtains. They help a lot. I find reading (a paper book, no screens) helps too when I can't sleep. And of course, a warm bath before bed, with chamomile soap or chamomile tea.
