Norse mythology-heavy here, so I'll try and explain a bit here:
Big Tree = Yggdrasil: the ash tree that connects to the nine worlds (Asgard, home of the Gods, Vanaheim, home of the Vanir, Alfheim, home of the Light Elves, Midgard, our world, Jotunheim, home of the giants, Svartalfheim, home of the Dark Elves, Niflheim, realm of the froze wasteland and second home to the Goddess Hel, Muspelheim, realm of the fire giants, and Helheim, the abode of the dead and home of the Goddess of the Dead, Hel)
Gold Hawk = Gullinkambi, who lives at the Tree's peak
Red Snake = Nidhogg, who chews on the Tree's roots
Flowerfields and Snowfields = Boarderlines between the upper (Vanaheim/Asgard) and lower realms Niflheim/Helheim); also known as the middle realm
Rainbow Nebula = Bifrost, the rainbow bridge that connects the upper and lower realms
Runes = Ancient lettering system; used to represent the nine worlds
Incidentally, the moon, as far as I know, has no Norse myth to it other than it looked pretty, and I didn't think to add the squirrel, Ratatosk, to the trunk of the tree...
Either way, this is a comp for a fictional -- yet dream-worthy -- album cover for Klaus Lunde, AKA 'xerxes,' whom I've known since he was a rising electronic artist on the DIFM community forums and before he joined Cardamar Music. I asked if I could do one using his logos/symbols for my design class (since Mike Oldfield and Strong Bad Sings are primarily "Plan B", and I do know some music artists).
I wanted to see what I could o in Photoshop via photo-manipulations, since 'staring from scratch' is my forte`, and I needed a challenge.
Too bad I couldn't get a nicer print-out of this; I chose the wrong set of paper for the job.

I hope xerxes'll like it, if not get inspired to do one like this for his next album (hint-hint).
