Something fun I did in my sketchbook for the freehand drawing class that I wanted to digitally ink and color and eventually submit here. Swiped this meme from ~sumomomizu.
-FIRST ANIME: Sailor Moon. One of the earlier anime shows I acknowledged as an 'anime' I actively watched as a 'first'. There were several others from Grim fairy tales to the Little Bits on Nick Jr. when I was younger, but this is the earliest I remember being aware of the anime culture. This was around ten years or so ago when Toonami DIDN'T SUCK.
-FAVORITE ANIME: Ranma 1/2. Pure insanity and hilarity. Pokes fun at gender roles and the like. I love both the subs and the dubs. I even have the entire manga collection. One of my favorite pasttimes was watching this after watching the original Star Trek, which we've dubbed the activity "Vulcans and Piglets night".
-LEAST FAVORITE ANIME: Pokemon. I DID watched this, just to see what the hell it was about. It was fun for a while, but I dropped out in favor of sleeping late. I cannot understand as to WHY this series is still alive, it makes me feel so fucking old
-THE ONE THAT GOT YOU: Mobil Suits Gundam Wing. this was what made all cartoons different from the ones I grew up with: it was serious, it was political, it was not cute (well, Duo is cute, but you get what I meant). When I saw what anime had to offer, I wanted more, and dedicated my life to watching, reading, drawing and learning all anime/manga-related things.
That was back then. Today, my tastes in anime has become very discriminant and favor only really, really, REALLY good ones that either make me laugh or think. Besides, I'm too obsessed with video games and online comics right now, with the latter is for serious research and the former because I am obsessed with video games
